A Hollywood-based adult star who had been on track to becoming a nuclear weapons engineer before realising the full deadly effect of nuclear warfare reveals how much she enjoyed rehab

An adult star ditched her nuclear physicist career for the sex industry after realising she'd be building deadly weapons.

Jasmine Payne explained on the PlugTalk podcast that she was studying nuclear physics and the science of radiation at college. She said: “I basically wanted to engineer bombs and s*** because science was super-interesting to me. But then I realised that I would be helping war and genocide and so I didn’t want to do that any more.”

Instead, the 24-year-old turned to stripping for a living. She had already started dancing in clubs before dropping out of college, explaining: “I literally just fell into it like a week after my 18th birthday. One of my friends started stripping and she said 'Hey, you should come and dance with me, you can make extra money'."

She recalled: “The guys loved it when I told them ‘I'm in nuclear physics and radiation, and you’re paying for my tuition’ – the money was just flowing in.” She admitted that her line of patter wasn’t entirely truthful – she already had a full scholarship so her stripping money was just a nice bonus.

Jasmine had been keen on dancing and gymnastics as a teenager, but had to give it up after having a serious accident at 16, and breaking both her arms.

As a result, she ended up being massively over-prescribed with painkillers – leading to a whole new set of problems. “I didn't even understand that [OxyContin] was a bad drug," she said. "In my teenager brain I just thought ‘Oh these things like make me feel fun and so I just started taking them all the time.”

Jasmine’s mum still has some of the massive supply of pills her doctor had dished out. She went on: “They probably trusted that my mum was going to ration it but her attitude was ‘Oh I trust you …I know how much pain you’re in’ and so on.

“Then one day she saw me taking them with my friends …she said ‘OK I don't think you need these anymore…”

But Jasmine was left with a serious dependency on the highly-addictive painkillers. She had also started drinking a great deal: “ It was the bottomless mimosas that got me. The brunches!"

"I was going to brunch every single day and then brunch would just lead to drinks and then shopping and then going out on a bender. I was just in a loop and I wasn’t getting anything done.”

Jasmine’s management company staged an intervention and advised her to go into rehab. At first she wasn’t convinced, but then she found out what rehab actually involved. She explained: “I had the best time. They just give you massages all day and acupuncture. I even had a support puppy – we rode horses and did horse therapy and one-on-one rehab. We had hypnotherapy and everything – it was awesome!”

The therapy set her back around $100,000 a month, and she admitted she would exaggerate her problems during counselling sessions so she could stay there longer.
