EXCLUSIVE: John Legendary, 39, originally from Detroit, officially quit his corporate job as an aerospace defence engineer to make inroads to the adult industry in August 2021
A self-confessed nerd who went from being an aerospace defence engineer to an adult film star says he has a very understanding partner.
John Legendary officially quit his corporate job to make in roads to the saucy scene in 2021. The 39-year-old with three degrees under his belt says he was not a ladies man at all, but has gone onto sleep with more than 1,500 women.
Despite his success in his job seeing him pull in a six-figure salary, he yearned for a career fuelled by passion. And, aged 37, he finally decide to throw himself into an industry where he now earns between $175-$200,000 (£140-£158k) a year doing something he loves.

There's lots of quality news coming out of the US.
However, despite making the switch in his late 30s, it wasn't a knee jerk move to make the transition.
John, who grew up in Detroit, said he moved on from his awkward school phase to inadvertently becoming a swinger one night round a college buddy's place.
Speaking to the Daily Star, John dished the dirt on his journey from his first encounter in front of a camera, to becoming a rising star in the adult movie business.
"I was in grad school and hanging out with one of my grad school buddies," he said. "And he had a young lady come over to his house.
"So usually when a girl comes over it's time to go, right, so I was trying to leave. And he said 'hold on, just wait one second'. So my guy, he calls this woman's husband.
"He said, 'hey, my friend is over here. Is it okay if he stays?' I'm looking at him like 'what's going on?' And then the husband said 'yes, just as long as you guys take videos and pictures'.
"And so we bang his wife. Take pictures, videos. We send it to the husband, the husband loves it. And then the wife leaves.
"And I'm looking at my friend like 'yo, what the hell did we just do?' Then he started teaching me, educating me, about the swinger lifestyle, and the hot wife lifestyle."
John said he explored that lifestyle for the next few years, and got more and more comfortable in front of the camera. But after a while he decided to take it up a notch.
John said: "I'm like, if I can do this with wives in front of their husbands while they record it, how about I try it with porn stars that are hot? And get paid for it.
"Because I was just hanging out doing it for free. That was my Saturday night hobby. And, so that's what led to me applying to enter their porn industry, and two weeks later I was in."
As for his partner of four years, he said that she has been very understanding throughout his decision making.
He said: "She met me she didn't know anything about me. That and I had a fool roster of women when we met, so it wasn't nothing serious. But we got closer and then it wasn't until six months of dating that I told her I was in the lifestyle.
"And then it was another six months that I told her ‘Hey, I'm a bull in the hot wife lifestyle, I f**k wives. This is my thing’. Then she said 'if there's anything you may want to do one day, just put it on the table now, so won't be surprised again'.
"And so that August of 2021 I said I might want to do porn one day. And then two weeks later I was signed."
Now an award winner in the industry, John now works for some of its top studios and regularly uploads content to OnlyFans. As well as being a performer he is also a producer and director, and has his own production brand, LegendaryX.com.
