After nearly two decades of doing it on the side, John Legendary quit his corporate job to make it in the adult industry in 2021. But he says he’d ditch it for a mainstream role
A racy star who went from aerospace engineer to adult content creator says he'd give it all up for his big break in telly.
John Legendary officially quit his corporate job to make in roads to the saucy industry in 2021. The 39-year-old with three degrees under his belt had spent the best part of two decades shooting content as a side hustle, before he made the full career transition.
Despite his success as an engineer seeing him pull in a six-figure salary, he yearned for a career fuelled by passion. And, aged 37, John finally decided to throw himself into an industry where he now earns between $175,000-$200,000 (£140,000-£158,000) a year doing something he loves.

In an exclusive chat with the Daily Star, the bloke who claims he has slept with 1500 women, confessed he would gladly leave it behind him if the right opportunity on the small screen came up.
But the double adult industry awards winner, originally from Detroit, has already worked on a major production and said it was the set up and treatment he received which made him crave the switch.
"I was cast in a mainstream opportunity for HBO Max," he said.
"I was cast in an implied sex role. It wasn't real sex, it was like an oral scene. It was because they needed an actor who was good at acting sexually.
"That was the coolest experience I ever had in my life. I had my own trailer, I had someone do my make-up, hair cut, and airbrushing my tattoos.
"Someone was taking my dinner orders. It was such a cool, surreal experience, I said 'wow, I want more of this'."
Legendary said off the back of his experience he started attending acting, improv, comedy and sketch-writing classes.
As well as being a performer, Legendary is also a producer and director and has his own production brand, LegendaryX.com.
While he has mapped out his plans in the adult industry for the next few years, where he plans to continue his OnlyFans and professional output, he admitted if opportunity knocked he'd find it hard to resist.
"I think I plan on performing in some capacity, whether it's for mainstream or my own stuff, for a couple more years," he said.
"I think I will always be doing some type of content, maybe for OnlyFans for another five years. But I have my own website that I launched in October, and that is something I'm going to spend a lot of time and resources in producing for.
"I may not be performing, but I might cast other male talents to perform for my website.
"So I think I'll do that from behind the camera for as long as I can. I kind of want to focus more on getting into the more traditional acting, on TV and film.
"That's kind of my almost exit plan. That's what I'm taking my classes and everything for. I want to do commercial stuff.
"Because at the end of the day, I do want to create things, or be a part of things, that my parents could be proud of."
